Day Seven - It's Been Nice! I woke up early so that I would be sure to be able to take a ride. I did a "once again" around Branson tour. I went up to 76 and headed west to the Remmington then looped back down towards the other theaters. I continued east into Old Branson and rode to Main Street's dead end: the Main Street Marina. Main Street Marina "The Ozark People" Main Street Marina "The Branson Sun" Upon turning around and returning to Green Mountain Road, I saw a Craft Mall and decided to go in to hopefully buy a neat Branson T-shirt. The store was full of local crafts. Craft Mall Branson Guess what I found? A week too late!! After shopping, I headed right back to Green Mountain Drive and the Alpenrose where Rolf was waiting for me... time to load the bike! As we were doing that, a Buell drove into the parking lot. George Beasley introduced himself and invited me to return for the Branson Motorcycle Rally in May. Evidently, his wife is one of the organizers. It was HER Buell he was riding (he owns a Harley). He uses the Buell to deliver show tickets for her to hotel guests. HE is a member of Mel Tillis's band. | Me and George Beasley Nice Buell! As soon as the bike was loaded, it was time to check out. I had already said goodbye to James Hughes the night before (he works nights). I paid Billy then went to say goodbye to Loraine and her husband, Don. We pulled Michael away from the TV in the hotel's lobby, then we were on our way. Rolf did the drive out since I was a bit chicken of pulling the trailer up all the twisty, windy routes out of Branson. And just in case you were wondering... when we crossed Canada Customs the next afternoon, no, they didn't want to see inside the trailer! Only as an afterthought did the customs agent ask: "What's in the trailer?" Return to Branson, Missouri main page. |
