Missouri... Show me!!!

Day Six - Other Things To Do Today!

After Marilyn had picked up Rolf and Michael, we decided to go up to Top of the Rock for lunch. I retraced the route I has taken earlier in the day but stopped at the outlook on Highway 165 so my friends could experience the awesome view.

These flowering trees were everywhere along the roadsides!

Food at the Top of the Rock Restaurant was great. Appetizers were yummy and the pizzas baked in a wood stove full of hickory wood were the best! Prices for 9 holes of golf were prohibitive though so we decided against returning there for golf the next day.

I wouldn't do that to a LIVE bison, Michael!

Spring had definitely arrived in Missouri!

After lunch we returned to the hotel. Marilyn and Rolf checked out CNN for news of the war in Iraq. Michael and I opted to go next door to the Alpenrose to play a couple of rounds of miniature golf.

Miniature Golf
It was like being in a pretty park.

The course was built on the side of the hill.

A couple of holes were inside "caves".

The course used rock and a waterfalls as obstacles.

Michael got a "hole in one" on this one.

One hole was IN the boat "on" the water.

Pretty, isn't it?

Final hole. Michael "edged" me out on both rounds!

At around 7:00, we were off to the Magic Show starring Kirby Van Burch. His performance was at the Remington Theatre and included a tiger, a black panther, and a boa constrictor. He made a motorcycle disappear and just as quickly reappear and his finale had him making a full size helicopter appear. I was in the front row and I STILL don't know how the helicopter one was done. I DO know how the motorcycle trick was done. (I'll spill the beans if I can have a TV show to tell the world "all"!)

It was a good day. The only sad thing about it was the realization that tomorrow we'd be headed home by noon. I packed up my suitcase and backpack and only kept out my motorcycle paraphenalia since I planned to take one final short ride around Branson the next morning.
