Amazingly, the day wasn't even half over! I had to rush from Fort Henry back into the downtown to catch my Thousand Island Cruise at 2:30. This was a three and a half hour tour that included the first half hour that was totally interesting, the next half hour that bordered on "BORING!" but was saved by the next hour of seeing all the neat, neat houses that were on the Thousand Islands... I want one! I want one!!
The Island Queen reminded me of the Paddlewheel Queen that used to travel the Red River in Winnipeg. There was yet another cool view of the city's marina as we left port, guided by the Queen's captain. Another great view was one of the fort that I'd just left, complete with cadets sailing the lasers.
As I said above, the Thousand Islands were spectacular. These pictures are only SOME of those I took.
After my wonderful cruise, I travelled to one of Kingston's shopping malls to replace my spare light bulb for my motorcycle. While there I came across another BMW 650. This style predates mine. I actually had seen this guy on the bike around town and afterwards, I saw him riding again, but I never did get a chance to chat with him.
After shopping for the bulbs, I returned to the hotel and had a swim in the hotel's pool... chilly to get into but great once I had. I talked to a family from Ontario who was attending a coast guard convention that weekend. Nice people.
I had dinner at the Lone Star that night. Great Tex-Mex food!I took a picture of city hall at night and also of a beautiful stained glass piece hanging in a store window. Lucky I was on a motorcycle! I knew there was no way of taking the window home so I window shopped instead of window shopping! hahaha
